Finished Projects

Since its establishment Zero-Kap finished a large number of projects.

Over all just over 90% of the credits invested in finished projects has been paid back. Failure to pay back has been attributed mainly to factors outside the influence of the beneficiaries of the loans: a huge fire, an earthquake, rampant inflation are among the most prominent factors.

Zero-Kap in figures

Number of credits distributed since 1989:    53

For a Total amount well over  € 900.000

Every single day for the past 5 years the net value of loans to projects was close to € 300.000. Their number varied between 15 and 25.

Over this period € 97.000 was not paid back due to external factors out of control of the beneficiaries, or because results on investment were disappointing. This does not mean that those projects failed completely. On the contrary, in almost all cases the Financial basis below those projects was structurally improved, training was received and the money made children go to school. Considering that none of the projects should have received credit from a bank, due to lack of formal securities, this is a very good result! Our beneficiaries have Pride in their independence and we are proud of them.

Reporting

Zero-Kap is yearly reporting on its activities. The annual report is verified by a public accountant following internationally accepted rules. Since 2005 the Financial report is also controlled by thge accountant according to the criteria of CBF, the Dutch entity that does certify fund raising NGO’s. Whether Zero-Kap will apply for a certification is a decision that may be taken any time. A proper balancing should take place first of costs involved and expected additional benefist.
