Our results

Since its start in 1989, Zero-Kap enjoyed numerous successful achievements on basis of its projects.
On the Indonesian Island of Java, in Burundi, India, Suriname, South Africa, Kenya and Peru hundreds of families enjoy their own or rented homes, built or improved  through loans to the co-operative that organized the project.

In the Costa Rican Esquinas rainforest, nature was protected from degradation through wood extraction and shifting cultivation due to the success of tourist hotel that forms an alternative and secure source of income to local people and also increased awareness with the local population about the value of natural resources. 

In India, Ghana, Burkina Fasso, Peru, Uruguay, Bangla Desh and Indonesia local NGO’s obtained Zero-Kap credit and redistributed that as mini or micro-credits to their members. With those credits farmers obtained seed, seedlings, fertilizer, pesticides to obtain higher yields and more stable incomes. Others invested in traction (oxen or a tractor) or cattle or pigs for milk and meat. Still others invested in a workshop near their homes or stables.
